Mott MacDonald appointed to carry out evaluations for Kenyan Orphaned and Vulnerable Children Programme
The Kenyan Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development has appointed Mott MacDonald to carry out evaluations of the orphaned and vulnerable children cash transfer (CT-OVC) programme in Kenya. Since 2004, the number of orphans in the country has increased by 600,000 and is now estimated at 2.4 million. To strengthen the capacity of poor households that take care of these children and help them to grow up in a family setting, the Government of Kenya set up the CT-OVC programme, with support from the World Bank, UNICEF and Department for International Development.
