CRC-Evans Pipeline International, Inc. Introduces New Offshore Channel Leadership Team
Strong Team of Industry Experts and Leaders Take CRC-Evans Offshore Business to Next Level
HOUSTON, TX – (August 15, 2013) – CRC-Evans Pipeline International, Inc. (CRC-Evans) announces the appointments of Adam Wynne Hughes to President, Offshore Channel; Scott Black to Managing Director, Offshore Channel; and John Watson to Global Operations Director, Offshore Channel. Each an industry expert and a CRC-Evans’ veteran, with a combined 80 years of technical and leadership experience in the offshore, welding, coating, inspection, and fabrication fields, Wynne Hughes, Black and Watson will continue to take CRC-Evans’ Offshore division into a new chapter of success and innovation.

Adam Wynne Hughes – President, Offshore Channel
CRC-Evans Pipeline International, Inc. (CRC-Evans) has appointed Adam Wynne Hughes to President, Offshore Channel.
With over 28 years of experience in construction and engineering, Wynne Hughes has an established record of involvement and leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects in the oil and gas field. He joined CRC-Evans in January 2011, and, since then, has held a number of roles showcasing the immense scope of his leadership capabilities.
“Adam has been integral to the CRC-Evans’ team, and his level of knowledge and experience in this industry is vital to the success of this company,” said Cannon. “We are confident that his invaluable skills will help to significantly grow the offshore business in the coming years.”
Wynne Hughes served on the supervisory board for the Milford Haven pipeline – the largest pipeline built in the U.K. to-date. He has held the position of President of the International Pipe Line & Offshore Contractors Association (IPLOCA), and continues to serve on the board of directors.
Wynne Hughes holds a City & Guilds Certificate from Civil Engineering College, Bircham Newton and Chartered Institute of Building Exams CIOB from Bristol Polytechnic.
Scott Black – Managing Director, Offshore Channel
CRC-Evans has promoted Scott Black to Managing Director, Offshore Channel.
Black boasts over 25 years of welding, fabrication and materials management experience, and has held various commercial and technical roles with Acergy, Technip, Coflexip Stena Offshore and Brown & Root. He joined the CRC-Evans team in 2009 as Projects Director, and was later promoted to Global Operations Director, before assuming his new role as Managing Director.
“Scott’s commercial acumen and technical expertise is a valuable asset to our customer relationships,” said Cannon. “He embodies CRC-Evans’ reputation for quality customer service, project management and product development.”
Black received a B.S. (Hons) in Metallurgy from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland.
John Watson – Global Operations Director, Offshore Channel
CRC-Evans has also promoted John Watson to Global Operations Director, Offshore Channel.
Watson has been in the welding fabrication industry for over 29 years, holding critical roles with UMax Pipeline Contractors, before joining CRC-Evans in 2007 as Production Manager and later promoted to Operations Manager. He has worked in a number of spoolbase facilities around the world, holding positions as a welding supervisor and superintendent.
“John’s proficiency in welding processes and techniques from a practical and theoretical standpoint makes him a leader in his industry,” stated Cannon. “He is well-established as a comprehensive resource of knowledge in the offshore field, and we are thrilled to welcome him into his new position as Global Operations Director.”
Watson completed a four-year welding/fabrication apprenticeship with Highland Construction Services.
Wynne Hughes, Black and Watson will join the rest of the outstanding members of the CRC-Evans Offshore Channel leadership team, including: Gareth Forbes, continuing his role as Finance Director, Offshore Channel; Anthony Pontefract, continuing his role as Regional Director – Americas; and Paul McShane, continuing his role as Operations Director for PIH, Burnley. Together, the Offshore Channel team now boasts a combined 200-plus years of technical and leadership experience.
