Rare, Vegan Fine Dining Experience Features Broad Range of New Menu Items

CHICAGO, IL – (November 21, 2013) – Karyn’s on Green, Chicago’s fine dining destination for contemporary, imaginative vegan fare, is proud to announce its new menu items and additions to its extensive handcrafted, organic cocktail and mocktail list.

Opened in 2010, Karyn’s on Green, 130 S. Green Street, has established itself as a pillar of elegance, indulgence and health in the Chicago vegan and vegetarian community. Helmed by renowned raw/vegan chef and holistic wellness advocate, Karyn Calabrese, Karyn’s on Green continues to innovate to deliver a delicious, earth-friendly approach to fine dining that can be enjoyed by vegans and non-vegans alike.

New entries to the line-up, including acorn braised winter squash with ginger teriyaki, tempura seasonal vegetables with chipotle aioli and sweet barbeque sauce, shepherd’s pie with roasted garlic potatoes and grilled “chicken” alfredo in a garlic cream sauce, join restaurant favorites, such as the arugula flatbread, roasted portabella and green coconut curry, to create a diverse menu that is inventive and decadent, without any meat, fish, chicken or dairy.

Karyn’s on Green also offers a truly unique list of artisanal and organic spirits, wines and beers. Selected from family-owned vineyards, Midwestern breweries and organic distilleries, Karyn’s on Green offers diners a wide range of handcrafted beverages, whose passionate makers are dedicated to sustainable practices.

Original, handcrafted cocktails include a jalapeno-cilantro margarita with Fortaleza Blanco Tequila, the “Black Thai Affair,” featuring Death’s Door Gin, muddled blackberries and Thai basil, the “Baya Rosa” with St. Germain liqueur and vanilla infused Malört and three creative adaptions of the classic Manhattan cocktail.

Karyn’s on Green also participates in VeeV’s TREEtini™ program, offering a cocktail with VeeV Açaí Spirit, fresh cucumber, mint, lime juice and agave nectar. For each TREEtini served, a tree is planted on the guest’s behalf through VeeV’s TREEtini program. To date, patrons at Karyn’s on Green have helped plant 1,463 trees in monsoon-ravaged Tamil Nadu, India.

Karyn’s on Green is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday-Thursday, 11:30 AM-10:00 PM, Friday and Saturday, 11:30 AM-11:00 PM and Sunday, 10:00 AM-9:00 PM. A brunch menu is served Saturday, 11:30 AM-3:00 PM and Sunday, 10:00 AM-3:00 PM.
