(Oakbrook, IL) – (February 22, 2012) – Republic Bank of Chicago announces Republic Bank University – a business performance program designed for small business owners, managers and decision makers to provide pragmatic, hands-on information and advice on how to improve the performance and profitability of their private businesses. The eight half-day courses will address real-life business challenges by examining relevant, everyday scenarios, and focusing on a wide array of finance and marketing-based solutions and strategies.

Each course will be offered at both the Lincolnwood and Hodgkins locations to accommodate audiences in both northern and southern Chicagoland. Instruction begins on April 3 and the Lincolnwood Banking Center, and April 5 at the Hodgkins Banking Center. After that, courses will be offered once a month at each location through November 2012. See attached course schedule for specific dates and locations.

With a curriculum designed by business and financial experts for business professionals, Republic Bank aims to provide attendees with a well-rounded understanding of clear, measurable, attainable and effective strategies that can be implemented in any economy.

“We want every element of Republic Bank University to help local business people increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their individual marketing management processes,” states Larry Marks, Chief Operating Officer for Republic Bank. “We’re providing invaluable instruction on how to achieve and, just as importantly, maintain financial fitness.”

Course instructors will include proficient Republic Bank management and a selection of specialized business experts, each covering a variety of topics within the following categories: manufacturing and sales management, financial management, leadership effectiveness and improving personal fiscal fitness.

Each course will be held at a specified Republic Bank location, and carries a registration fee of $150; however, participants may approach a Republic Bank Marketing Manager to attend for free. Instruction begins in April and will continue each month through November. Attendees that complete at least four courses/evaluations will become certified members and recognized as Republic Bank University graduates.

“This program is all about reaching out to the small business community and providing the tools for successful financial, marketing and sales management – rooted in knowledge that can only be gained through real life and experience,” Marks said. “This is the kind of service that is unmatched in the banking industry today. We’re getting back to the basics – a classroom, a podium and forging a personal connection with creative minds.”
