SARGENT AND GREENLEAF, INC. INTRODUCES THE S&G® 2740 HIGH SECURITY LOCK

Nicholasville, KY – Sargent and Greenleaf, Inc., a subsidiary of Stanley Security Solutions, announces the new S&G® 2740 High Security Lock. The S&G 2740 is specifically designed to secure General Services Administration (GSA) approved containers and vault doors that require a lock meeting Federal Specification FF-L-2740A.
The new S&G® 2740 High Security Lock includes a sophisticated electro-mechanical design that provides a high level of security and reliability in a lock that is quick and easy to install and operate. The S&G 2740 offers enhanced security by eliminating the need for cables from outside the container to the lock inside the container. The stainless steel lock bolt is strong enough to resist 600 pounds of force to provide extra protection against brute force attacks. Customers can choose Single or Dual Control modes of operation. Dual control requires two persons enter their combination. The lock also features a standard spy-proof dial that restricts the viewable area of the dial making it extremely difficult for anyone other than the operator to view the numbers being dialed.
The S&G® 2740 installs like common mechanical combination locks and the simplified process decreases installation time and reduces the likelihood of errors and damage to parts. To ease installation, the S&G 2740 uses the industry standard S&G “Magic Module” footprint. This allows for easy installation on new and existing containers by reducing the need for mounting plate or boltwork modifications. It has a bolt throw of .461 inch to accommodate the -boltwork of older GSA containers. The bolt is drilled and tapped to match most bolt extensions currently in use.
The S&G 2740 is easy to operate, with a familiar left-right-left dialing sequence and one-hand operation. A change key comes standard with the lock. The lock is powered by a common long-life lithium battery. This provides instant reliable power-up without the need to spin the dial to generate power. The S&G 2740 also contains a readily available battery back up cell to power the lock if the user ignores one hundred low battery indications and fails to change the primary battery. A simple to use set-up module is used to facilitate lock installation, set operating mode and perform normal service operations.
