Stanley Mechanical Access Solutions Announces Release of the New D-1610 Series Door Closer

Indianapolis, IN – (March 19, 2012) – Mechanical Access Solutions (MAS), a division of Stanley Security Solutions, Inc. and provider of access control and integrated security solutions, announces the immediate release of the new D-1610 Series Door Closer. The D-1610 Series is a slim line closer, designed to accommodate the standard aluminum storefront application footprint.

The D-1610 Series construction incorporates heat-treated steel components, combined with a durable cast aluminum cylinder body. Manufactured using aluminum alloy, the D-1610 Series’ cylinder body maintains reliable functions during extreme internal hydraulic pressures. The pinion and piston are constructed of heat-treated steel, maximizing stability to critical tolerances for consistent performance. Precise machining, combined with “non-critical” regulating valves enables fine-tune hydraulic adjustment of the general sweep, latch and backcheck speeds.

Although both the steel components and cylinder body maintain a common mounting hole pattern, the D-1610 cylinder body and tri-pack arm assembly possess a more robust design and customer-driven aesthetic appeal over the previous D-1650 model. Consequently, with the launch of the new D-1610 Series, the D-1650 Series will be discontinued.

The D-1610 Series has been certified ANSI/BHMA 156.4 Grade 1, UL10C, UBC 7-2, and offers the following additional features:

• Non-handed
• Spring adjustment – D-1610 (size 2-5), D-1611 (size 1-4 ADA compliant)
• Common mounting prep – 3/4” X 9 1/16”
• Tri-packed (regular arm, top jamb and parallel arm mounting)
• Optional cover
• 10-year warranty
