Two new Swedish patents for myFC’s liquid hydrogen fuel

Report this content

The Swedish Patent and Registration Office intends to approve two new patents for Swedish fuel cell company myFC. Both patents cover the company's proprietary and completely green liquid fuel.

The two patents that the Swedish Patent Office intends to approve describe selected parts of myFC's unique and proprietary fuel. The two solutions control and steer the chemical reaction, which in turn makes it possible to handle, certify and transport the fuel in a simple and efficient manner.

The patents describe parts of the fuel cartridge where water, salt and reactants create hydrogen. The first patent describes the actual fuel cartridge: the spaces where the two reactants are stored, the mixing tank where one reactant is dissolved in water, and the reactor chamber where the reaction occurs and hydrogen is formed.

The other patent specifically relates to how the water-soluble reactant is distributed into the reactor chamber. With the help of a special film and capillary pressure, this occurs in a precise fashion, in order for hydrogen production to begin.

"What makes myFC unique is our trinity of fuel cell, fuel and the ability to hybridize, that is, to offer the best experience from both fuel cell and battery. Our highly efficient fuel is a differentiator for our commercial offer. Protecting our technology and innovations with a strong IP strategy is very important, says Björn Westerholm, CEO of myFC.

MyFC's patent portfolio consists of 80 approved patents and pending patent applications.
