Competition authority approves sale of NCC Roads Polska

NCC’s sale of its Polish asphalt, aggregate and paving operations has been approved by the Polish competition authority. The sale will generate a positive effect of SEK 400 million on NCC’s earnings, which will be reported during the second quarter of 2007.

By the end of 2006, NCC concluded an agreement concerning the sale of NCC Roads Polska, its Polish operations within the NCC Roads business area. The purchaser is the Austrian company Strabag. The condition for the sale was its approval by the Polish competition authorities. The sales consideration of SEK 1,050 million for a debt-free company and the effect on NCC earnings for 2007 will be approximately SEK 400 million.

NCC Roads Polska has been part of the NCC Roads business area, which is active throughout the value chain relating to asphalt, aggregates and paving. The Polish operations, which had net sales of approximately SEK 1.5 billion in 2006, have about 900 employees and their registered head office is in Warsaw. The operations are mainly conducted in central and western Poland.

In 2006, NCC Roads, whose operations are mainly concentrated in the Nordic region, had net sales of approximately SEK 10 billion with 4,000 employees.

Strabag has net sales of EUR 10 billion, 53,000 employees and is domiciled in Vienna.
