Håkon Tjomsland is appointed new Head of NCC Construction Norway

Håkon Tjomsland has been appointed new Business Area Manager for NCC Construction Norway. Peter Gjörup, who currently holds the position, will assume the new position of Chief Purchasing Officer for the NCC Group.

Peter Gjörup has developed and strengthened NCC’s position in Norway in recent years. During the latest two years the business has grown in line with the Group’s strategic priorities, through acquisitions as well as organically. NCC in Norway enters a phase of consolidation, focusing further on integration of acquired companies and to secure organic growth. After that, the next step in the strategy could be taken. This is then a suitable time and it is a natural step for a management shift. Håkon Tjomsland will assume his new role on June 24, 2013 and will also be a member of NCC Group Management. He has led the civil engineering operations in NCC Construction Norway with stable earnings since 2009.

Håkon Tjomsland has extensive experience and a deep understanding of the construction sector. Over the years, he has been responsible for some of NCC’s largest projects in Norway and held several positions as manager at both local and regional levels.

NCC has the ambition to be in the forefront in purchasing in the industry, Taking the next step on this journey s NCC has formed a new position – Chief Purchasing Officer on Group level. Peter Gjörup will assume his new position as Chief Purchasing Officer for the NCC Group starting during the third quarter and report to the CEO, Peter Wågström.

Håkon Tjomsland is graduated from Oslo College of Engineering, BI Norwegian Business School and Lund Technical University. Håkon Tjomsland has been employed by NCC since 1992.
