NCC acquires prime commercial property in Malmö for SEK 287 million NCC Real Estate has reached an agreement with the SEB Trygg Liv insurance company regarding the acquisition of a property in central Malmö for SEK 287 million, as well as the sale of three residential properties in Uppsala and Gothenburg. The sales price for the divested properties is SEK 303 million, which will give rise to a capital loss of SEK 7 million. The acquired property is situated on Södergatan, Malmö's best commercial location. The property has a total of 20,000 m2 of rentable floor space, including 10,600 m2 of retail space and 6,200 m2 of office space. Ownership of the property also provides access to a considerable development right. NCC Real Estate will gradually modernize the property and create new space for offices. The two divested residential properties in Uppsala, which were completed in 1990 and 1991, comprise a total of 22,400 m2 of floor space. The residential property in Gårda, Gothenburg, was completed in 1996 and has about 8,500 m2 of rentable floor space. Part of this property will be partitioned off and retained by NCC Real Estate for future development. "The transaction with SEB Trygg Liv demonstrates the potential available for acquiring attractive development properties by offering management properties in exchange," says Magnus Mannesson, President of NCC Real Estate. "The acquisition strengthens our position as a major player in the sharply expanding Malmö and Öresund region." May 2, 2000 is the takeover date.
