“Swim centers are one of NCC’s specialties. We are the Nordic region’s largest contractor in the segment, with proven proprietary technical solutions and work processes. Our internal team of specialists has worked in a targeted manner, in partnership with external expert advisers, in order to offer Bærum Municipality an attractive facility,” says Olle Forsberg, swim center project manager for NCC in Norway.
NCC has a great deal of experience and competence in developing and constructing public baths and swim centers. Projects led by NCC, such as the swim center in Røyken, the ongoing Manglerud swim center project in Oslo, and now the new Rud swim center in Bærum are examples of projects in which the developer benefits from NCC’s specialist competence.
“The early involvement of all project participants from different areas of expertise and occupational groups is the very foundation of our work. We have gone from being a traditional contractor to becoming a contractor specializing in developing the projects we will build in partnership with customers, users and collaborating partners,” says Are Strøm, Senior Vice President Head of Building Norway.
Bærum Municipality wants to make the Rud swim center one of Norway’s most climate and energy-friendly, and it will be Norway’s first BREEAM-certified swim center. This includes 30 percent less energy consumption compared with similar buildings, a passive building standard and a recycling rate of over 90 percent for surplus material. In addition, the construction project will comply with NCC’s proprietary “Green Construction Site” control system.
The order of approximately SEK 330 million is registered in the fourth quarter 2018 in business area, NCC Building Nordics.
