NCC completes acquisition of Polish civil engineering company NCC is acquiring 75% of the shares in Hydrobudowa, a Polish civil engineering company. Takeover will occur during March and the acquisition will strengthen NCC's civil engineering operations in Poland and the Baltic Sea region. Hydrobudowa is an exchange-listed civil engineering company that focuses on marine facilities, bridges and foundation engineering. It has annual sales of approximately SEK 270 million, with about 600 employees. NCC decided in 1998 that Poland would ultimately become one of the Group's domestic markets and NCC Poland, whose operations are mainly concentrated in the most expansive parts of the country, was formed the same year. Several of NCC's business areas are now active in Poland. NCC's definitive breakthrough in the Polish market was achieved in October last year when it received an order worth SEK 2,7 billion to build and operate the A2 highway between the German border and Warsaw. The acquisition of Hydrobudowa is part of efforts to mobilize resources for the A2 project, construction of which will begin in March.
