NCC focuses on growth areas, Telecom and Service new business areas

NCC focuses on growth areas Telecom and Service new business areas The NCC Group is changing its organization with the aim of increasing the focus growth areas in telecommunications and service. Concurrently, the efficiency and NCC's character as an international group is being reinforced. Two new business areas, NCC TeleCom and NCC Service are being formed. NCC Building and NCC Civil Engineering are being combined into a new business area, NCC Contracting, which is mainly managed on a country basis. The three other NCC business areas, NCC Living, NCC Real Estate Development and NCC Industry, are mainly managed on a business area basis in order to capitalize on the inherent strength of a common concept. The change becomes effective January 1, 2001. As of year-end, NCC will have six business areas: NCC Contracting, which comprises the former Civil Engineering and Building business areas. The business area's office will be in Stockholm. Kenneth Orrgren will be president of the business area, with Per Nielsen as executive vice president. NCC Living, formerly NCC Housing, specialize in housing development. Pure housing production is being transferred to NCC Contracting. Olle Håkansson remains as president. NCC Real Estate Development, formerly NCC Real Estate, retains its orientation, with focus on property development and a successive reduction of the existing managed portfolio. Magnus Mannesson continues as president. NCC Industry, as a result of the new organization, gains greater possibilities to continue its expansion in the Baltic region. The foundation has been further strengthened through the acquisition of Rieber & Sons' Road Division. The president will be Hans Gormsen, currently Vice President of NCC Danmark. NCC Telecom becomes a new business area against the background of the expected sharp rise in volumes in this area. It will feature three units - base stations, fiber contracts and future operations, The business area will be headquartered in Stockholm and Olle Wärvik, currently regional manager for NCC Building in Uppsala, will be president. NCC Service becomes a new business area with a focus on increased efforts within facility management and building services. The business area will be based in Stockholm and Mikael Öberg, currently manager of Building Services within NCC Building, will be president. As of year-end, NCC's executive management will comprise the CEO, the presidents of the six business areas, and the heads of the Corporate Staffs for Business Development, Business Control, Finance, Corporate Communications and Personnel.
