NCC is starting the development of Lielahti Center in Tampere, Finland

NCC Property Development is now starting the development of the Lielahti Center. The project will improve both shopping and public services in the Lielahti area.

The project comprise of a total of 15,000 square meters, whereof leasable retail and service areas amount to 13,350 square meters. The current letting ratio amounts to 42 per cent. The estimated project value is EUR 50 million and will be completed in March 2014.

The main tenant will be the City of Tampere who is concentrating a number of public services to the Lielahti Center. The services consist of a library, several health and social services, such as a child welfare clinic as well as a service center for elderly. The Lielahti Center will also house other service providers as well as commercial stores, among others H&M.

“In this project, the combination of commercial and public services creates a dynamic area that adds value to the citizens of Tampere”, says Joachim Hallengren, President of the NCC Property Development business area. “At the moment, we have a total of nine projects in progress in Finland. As one of the leading property developers on the Finnish market, we are an active driver of sustainability issues”, Joachim Hallengren concludes.

The Lielahti Center is designed to meet the requirements of level “Very Good” in accordance with the BREEAM environmental certification system.
