NCC Property Development recruits Manager for St. Petersburg
NCC Property Development is to increase its commitment to the Baltic region by recruiting a manager for the operation in St. Petersburg, Russia. As of March 1, 2011, Michael Björklund will be Business Unit Manager for the Baltic States and St. Petersburg.
NCC Property Development develops and sells properties in the Nordic region and the Baltic States. The operation will now be expanded to include St. Petersburg in Russia.
“The St. Petersburg region is an interesting emerging market in which NCC has been active for a long time. We believe that the conditions in the region are perfect for the establishment of NCC Property Development and the development of commercial properties,” says Joachim Hallengren, Business Area President of NCC Property Development.
The unit’s new Manager, Michael Björklund, has experience from both the property sector and Russia. He joins NCC Property Development from Kingfisher Plc, where he was Property Director for Russia. Prior to this, Michael worked at IKEA, in positions including Project Manager for the development of Europe’s largest shopping center, a unit in Moscow with more than 270,000 square meters of retail space.
“His broad experience of living and working in Russia for eight years is precisely what we need to expand in the region,” says Business Area President, Joachim Hallengren.
Michael will assume his position on March 1, 2011 and will report to the Business Area President. Krister Karlsson, new Regional Manager for the Baltic region will report to Michael Björklund.
