NCC receives order in Singapore for approx. 850 MSEK

NCC receives order in Singapore for approx. 850 MSEK NCC is partner in an international joint venture which has been awarded contract, C822, for the extension of the Metro system Circle Line in Singapore. The total value of the contract is approximately SEK 1,9 billion, of which NCC's portion is 850 MSEK. The Client is LTA, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, a statutory board under the Ministry of Transport. The Joint Venture comprises of NCC and Econ Corporation Ltd, a well- established Singaporean construction company listed on the Singaporean stockmarket. "Singapore is one of our prioritized markets for project operations internationally and this type of repeat business reinforces NCC's focus on meeting, and indeed exceeding the Client's expectations from the Contractor." Contract C822, is for the construction of two underground stations under Circle Line stage 2. It also involves the construction of the interconnection tunnels between the two stations. Physical works will start in the last quarter of this year, and is target to complete by the end of 2006 / early 2007. Approximately 800 persons will be engaged in the project, the majority of which will be locally employed. NCC, as part of a joint venture, was also awarded one of the civil works contracts for Circle Line stage 1. The circle line is an orbital line that will link all radial rapid transit lines running into the city. It will interchange with the existing North South and East West lines, as well as the future North East line. It will be a fully automated rapid transit system and will be built in stages.
