NCC receives order worth SEK 190 million for water-treatment plant in Bergen NCC Construction Norway has reached an agreement with the Municipality of Bergen regarding the upgrade of an existing water-treatment plant and construction of a new plant. The value of the order, including an option to upgrade the existing water-treatment plant, is NOK 175 million (approx. SEK 190 million). "NCC has previously built large parts of the water-supply system in Bergen and it is extremely gratifying that we have been entrusted by the municipality to complete an additional phase," says Terje J. Skjelbred, District Manager within NCC Construction Norway's Civil Engineering region in Western Norway, commenting on the transaction. The treatment plant will purify water from the Svartediket reservoir, which is situated between the mountaintops of Ulriken and Fløyen. The plant will have the capacity to supply water for 50,000 inhabitants. NCC's assignments will include blasting tunnels and building underwater rock caverns. A total of 120,000 cubic meters of rock will be blasted. It is estimated that the project will require about 8,000 cubic meters of concrete. The assignment is scheduled for completion on February 1, 2007. Further information: Terje J.
