NCC Construction has entered into a partnering agreement with Behrn Fastigheter concerning the construction of housing, offices and a parking garage in the Längan property block in central Örebro. The order is worth approximately SEK 150 million.

The Längan property block is located at the Rudbecksgatan-Fabriksgatan-Östra Bangatan junction. This is where a 16-story building with 45 tenant-owned apartments, an 11-story office building and a three-story above-ground parking garage will now be built. In addition, 16 tenant-owned row houses will be built on top of the garage. The cost of the entire project is estimated at about SEK 250 million, of which NCC’s share amounts to SEK 150 million.

“We replace a gigantic vacuum in the heart of Örebro with a functionally and esthetically appealing landmark. In addition, the 480 parking spaces we are now to build will solve a large part of Örebro’s parking problems,” says Håkan Carlevi, NCC’s Department Manager.

“We will be creating comfortable, quiet and secure accommodation in apartments and row houses located in a unique environment in the very center of Örebro. In the office building, Längan City, we will be designing offices for the future, all in accordance with the needs of the companies that will be tenants there, including state-of-the-art technology for data- and telecommunications. After many years of planning, we are delighted to be able to launch our largest ever construction project,” says Per Johan Behrn, President of Behrn Fastigheter.

The construction project will start immediately and is scheduled for completion in September 2009. At most, about 50 employees will be engaged in the project.

Partnering is a structured cooperation format applied in the construction industry, whereby the developer, consultants and contractors jointly resolve construction assignments through open and trusting cooperation in which each party contributes complementary professional knowledge throughout all stages of the project.

Order registration will take place in the fourth quarter of 2007.
