NCC secures order valued at SEK 324 M for extension of university hospital in Linköping
NCC secures order valued at SEK 324 M for extension of university hospital in Linköping NCC has secured an assignment from LandstingsFastigheter Östergötland to construct the "O Building" at the hospital campus in Linköping. The order is valued at approximately SEK 324 M. The assignment involves the construction of a new care building for county council business, the hematology clinic, pulmonary care clinic and the gynecology and oncology clinics. Part of the building is intended for university activities in radio physics and oncology, and will also contain a number of workrooms. In addition, the assignment comprises demolition of an existing building. The total floor space is 23,000 square meters and the land area affected totals about 8,000 square meters. The University Hospital in Linköping has been extended previously. Most recently, the hospital was extended in the mid-1990s, when NCC, in consortium with another construction company, was assigned to conduct the project. "This is an extremely interesting project and also of major importance for Linköping as a city. We are pleased to be involved in constructing a high-tech facility, which will provide for patients' needs in the best possible way. The fact that NCC has again secured such a project, in which expertise and experience were decisive, is extremely satisfying," says Business Manager Hossein Kabiri at NCC Construction Sweden. Approximately 100 construction workers, administrative staff and subcontractors are expected to participate in the project, which will commence immediately. The hospital is expected to be completed in December 2006.
