NCC secures order worth SEK 117 million for nursing home in Denmark

NCC secures order worth SEK 117 million for nursing home in Denmark NCC Construction Denmark and the Danish municipality of Hvidovre have entered into a partnering agreement worth approximately SEK 117 million (DKK 97 million). NCC has been assigned to refurbish and extend the Krogstenshave nursing home in Hvidovre Municipality. Friis & Moltke A/S, Algren & Bruun and Rambøll Danmark A/S are also involved in the partnering assignment*. NCC's share of the assignment is valued at approximately SEK 117 million. Project-design work has already commenced and construction is expected to start in January, 2005 and continue until the summer of 2008. The Krogstenshave nursing home was initially constructed in 1960 and is Hvidovre Municipality's oldest nursing home for senior citizens. Krogstenshave currently has 78 small service apartments with communal toilets and bathrooms in the corridors. These outmoded apartments do not meet today's requirements for residents and employees in terms of opportunities to use such aids as lifting equipment and wheelchairs. When the refurbishment and extension work is ready, Krogstenshave will have 96 modern service apartments. The contract also includes the construction of a communal building including a café, recreational rooms, workshops, training facilities and administration. *Partnering is a structured form of cooperation existing in the construction sector, whereby the client, consultants and contractors jointly resolve a construction task based on trusting cooperation.
