NCC sells Skifer og Naturstein AS of Norway for SEK 82 million

NCC Roads Holding AB is selling Skifer og Naturstein AS, a Norwegian producer of slate, to AS Johs. Grønseth & Co. The purchase consideration is slightly more than SEK 82 million and the sale will generate a marginal capital loss.

NCC’s strategy entails concentration on the Group’s profitable core business and a focus on the Nordic market. The current sale of Skifer og Naturstein is in line with this strategy. AS Johs. Grønseth & Co will take over all of the shares and loans in Skifer og Naturstein in conjunction with the acquisition. It is estimated that the transaction will be completed in full during December 2004. Skifer og Naturstein has production facilities at three locations in Norway: Alta, Oppdal and Otta. The company has annual sales of about SEK 160 million, with 175 employees. It is the leading slate producer in the Nordic region, and exports the product throughout the world.
