NCC has secured another assignment with Bergen Light Rail in Norway worth SEK 225 million. NCC is to construct the D16 Fyllingsdalen project, part of the Bergen Light Rail line.

NCC is a major contractor in the construction of Bergen Light Rail, and this is the tenth construction contract that NCC has secured.

“Bergen Light Rail is a visionary public transport initiative. We are delighted to participate in a new project for a sustainable Bergen,” says Per Jonsson, Division Manager at NCC Civil Engineering in Norway.

The D16 project primarily involves foundation and concreting works and constructing the light rail line past the Oasen shopping center in the city borough of Fyllingsdalen.

“We are very proud that Bergen Light Rail has once again chosen NCC,” says Henning Simonsen, Regional Manager at NCC Infrastructure Region West in Norway.

Work will commence immediately after Easter and is scheduled to be completed in summer 2021. In this first stage, the base will be constructed and some groundworks will be carried out. Concreting works will take place in the autumn. The SEK 225 million new order will be registered during the second quarter of 2019 in the NCC Infrastructure business area. With the ten contracts, NCC has carried out work on Bergen Light Rail for a total value of more than SEK 1,900 million.
