The development of NCC Housing is moving forward and the next step is to establish a new organization for the Swedish operations with simpler processes and a clearer sales-and-customer focus.

The organization is currently being formed and is expected to be operational no later than June 1, 2013. The change entails a possible reduction in the number of employees in the Swedish section of the NCC Housing business area by about 50. Our ambition is, wherever possible, to offer other positions within NCC.

“The new organization will improve opportunities for achieving our objective of being the customer’s first choice and will facilitate NCC’s overall strategy for profitable growth. This change has provided us with opportunities to utilize the best experiences from all the countries in which the business area is active. Operations will now become more straightforward and clearer for both customers and employees” said Joachim Hallengren, Business Area President, NCC Housing.

The housing market in Sweden has been cautious during 2012 and home buyers have chosen to make their purchases closer to completion of the housing unit. As a result, NCC has adopted a cautious approach to launching new housing projects in Sweden. NCC’s assessment is that the market situation remains unchanged.

“We need to streamline our Swedish organization, which has been staffed for a higher project volume than has actually materialized. NCC’s target of increasing the number of housing units in production to at least 7,000 during the strategy period up to 2015 stands firm. NCC has housing-development operations in eight countries: the Nordic countries, plus the Baltic States, Germany and St. Petersburg, Russia. Markets outside Sweden account for a total of 70 percent of our ongoing projects,” said Joachim Hallengren, Business Area President, NCC Housing.
