NCC to acquire of Polish construction company NCC has today received permission from the Polish stock market authorities to acquire up to 75% of the shares of Hydrobudowa, the Polish construction company. Final negotiations are being conducted with the principal owner, NIF Jupiter, and the transaction is expected to be completed during January. Hydrobudowa is a publicly listed construction company that specializes in marine facilities, bridges and foundation work. The company has annual sales of approximately SEK 270 M, with about 600 employees. In 1998 NCC decided that Poland should be one of the Group's domestic markets and in the same year founded NCC Polska, whose operations are concentrated primarily in the most expansive areas of the country. All of NCC's business areas are now active in Poland. NCC achieved its definitive breakthrough in the Polish market in October last year with an order valued at SEK 2.7 billion to construct and operate the A2 throughway between the German border and Warsaw. A program is now under way to mobilize the resources required for this large project. The acquisition of Hydrobudowa should be viewed as part of this program.
