NCC to become ambassador for sustainable building
NCC Property Development Norway’s President Rolf Thorsen has been appointed as one of the ambassadors of Nordic Built. Through the Nordic Built program, NCC will work to develop and disseminate opinions, technologies and methods for sustainable building.
“This represents a further opportunity for NCC to really make a difference for both people and the environment and is entirely in line with our strategic targets. We work hard to develop, use and promote sustainable methods and concepts in all of our projects. This is confirmation that our efforts have been recognized,” says Rolf Thorsen, President of NCC Property Development in Norway.
Nordic Built is a program aimed at accelerating the development of sustainable construction technologies and concepts throughout the Nordic Region. Some 18 leading companies in the Nordic region, including NCC Property Development, recently signed a number of regulations obligating the company to continue its endeavor to achieve more environmentally sustainable construction in the Nordic Region.
“Participation in such an initiative is a natural step for NCC to take. We will continue to operate at the leading edge in terms of building solutions that are sound and intelligent for both people and the environment. I am delighted that an increasing number of customers want to accompany us on this journey,” says Joachim Hallengren, President of the NCC Property Development business area.
Nordic Built is funded by and under the supervision of Nordic Innovation, which in turn is an institution controlled by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Nordic Innovation is a key participant in the implementation of Nordic partnership programs in the areas of trade, industry and innovation with the objective of promoting cross-border trade and innovation.
