NCC to build 200 rental apartments in Huddinge
In partnership with Huge Bostäder, NCC is to build 200 rental units, of which approximately half will be student apartments, as well as a preschool in Huddinge, Sweden. The assignment is part of the framework agreement signed by the parties and the order is worth SEK 340 million.
“Flemingsberg is one of the largest and most exciting urban development areas in Stockholm at the present time. Huge’s project signals the start of the development of Hälsovägen, where an urban neighborhood will be built. The 200 new housing units, of which almost half will be for students, and the new preschool, will meet a number of needs in the area,” says Karin Strömberg Ekström, CEO of Huge Bostäder AB.
The housing units will be constructed in three buildings, the highest of which will comprise ten stories. The apartments will be of varying sizes and comprise both housing for the general public and student housing. One of the buildings will contain only studio apartments. A preschool will also be constructed in the area. The buildings will have a Silver environmental rating from the Sweden Green Building Council.
“The framework agreement was signed some time ago, so it is very gratifying that we now have an actual project on the table and can begin construction. The project will be implemented in partnering form, which is particularly satisfying as this guarantees the implementation process and results in a high-quality and sustainable final product,” says Henrik Landelius, Business Area Manager of NCC Building Sweden.
The project is scheduled to be complete in 2022. The SEK 340 million order will be registered during the third quarter of 2019 in the NCC Building Sweden business area.
