NCC to build Estonia's largest shopping mall for SEK 240 million NCC International Oy's Estonian subsidiary, NCC Ehitus Oü, has been commissioned by Norwegian real estate investor Linstow to construct a new shopping mall - the Ülemiste Center - in Tallinn. The order is worth approximately SEK 240 million (approx. EUR 25 million). The new facility in Tallinn will have slightly more than 50,000 square meters of floor space, making it the largest shopping mall in Estonia. It will be built close to a traffic intersection on the highway to Tallinn Airport and to Tartu, about 5 kilometers from central Tallinn. The contract is for a turnkey assignment. At the construction site, demolition works are already underway and actual construction will start in August 2002. At its peak, about 300 people will be active in the project. The shopping mall is scheduled for completion at the end of 2003. NCC has cooperated with Linstow on this project for a couple of years. The companies are also jointly involved in several projects under way in other Baltic countries. Among other assignments, NCC Ehitus has renovated the residential area at Raekoja Square in Tallinn. NCC is currently developing office and warehouse projects in Tallinn.
