NCC to build experience center at Kungens Kurva for SEK 130 million NCC has received an order for the construction of an experience center at Kungens Kurva, Stockholm, beside the E4 highway to Södertälje. The customer is the UK company Heron international. The order value of this general contract project is SEK 130 million. An experience center of this type, which will be built on the basis of an American idea, will be something completely unique in Sweden. The center 2 will comprise two buildings containing a total of 53,000 m of floor 2 space, as well as a 54,000 m garage. According to the project plans, the center will contain 15 to 24 movie theaters, operated by AMC, a US movie-theater chain. It will also include a fitness center with exercise halls, a large pool and a bowling alley. The fitness center will be operated by a South African company that is currently establishing a presence in Sweden. Shopping is one of the major pleasures of modern man and various types of shops, covering a large proportion of floor space in the center, will accommodate such needs. The center will also satisfy demand for gastronomical experiences. No fewer than 15 to 20 small restaurant outlets, of the "hole-in-the-wall" type, will quickly and easily provide a large variety of dishes. The main structure of the new complex, built by Strängbetong, is already in position. NCC will initiate supplementary structural work in January. When this has been competed, comprehensive interior work will be required for the movie theaters, fitness center, retail premises and restaurants. The grand opening of this unique center, whose excellent location is expected to attract large number of visitors, will be on November 30. A total of 40 to 50 of NCC's skilled workers and an equal number of subcontractors will be employed in the project during the construction period.
