The municipality of Järvenpää in southern Finland has selected NCC to build a new district healthcare center. The order is worth SEK 310 million.

“During the procurement process, quality was considered as important as price. The project will be conducted on a cooperative basis which, in our experience, is beneficial to the cost efficiency of a project and its quality,” says Harri Savolainen, Business Area Manager at NCC Construction Finland.

The procurement process began in March with a prequalification phase, in which NCC was one of three companies to qualify for the final stage. The selection criteria were the ability to cooperate, risk management, quality of project planning, data modeling and fees for planning, maintenance and construction.

The order will be registered in NCC Construction Finland in the fourth quarter. The project will start immediately and is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2016.

In addition to an order worth SEK 310 million to build a district healthcare center, the Järvenpää agreement includes an option to build a parking garage with 300 to 500 parking spaces, and an operation and maintenance option for a period of five to ten years.
