NCC to build housing in Finland for SEK 460 million

NCC Construction Finland has been commissioned to construct a total of 263 housing units at Jätkäsaari in Helsinki. The client is the City of Helsinki Residential Production Department (ATT). The order is valued at approximately SEK 460 million and will be registered in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Of the 263 housing units, 177 will be rental units and 86 will be so-called Hitas units, which are price-controlled owner-occupied apartments. The contract also includes a garage adjacent to the housing units.

Construction will commence in January 2012 and continue for approximately two years.

NCC already has two ongoing projects in Jätkäsaari; a turnkey contract for the Helsinki Housing Production Department (ATT) comprising 131 housing units and a project for Homes for Students (HOAS) for the construction of 206 student residences.

Jätkäsaari is one of Helsinki’s major development areas that are being integrated to become part of the inner city. By mid-2020, it is estimated that Jätkäsaari will have approximately 16,000 inhabitants and about 6,000 workplaces.

With this mission to build 263 housings units at Jätkäsaari, NCC has now agreed to build a total of 686 housing units for ATT in the Helsinki area.
