Report this content

NCC has been commissioned by LKAB to build a pelletizing plant in Kiruna. The order is worth slightly more than SEK 1,100 million and is for the largest partnering project to date in the Nordic region.

The order includes landscaping and construction work for LKAB in Kiruna and the plant will substantially increase the production capacity for pellets. The assignment will comprise project design and construction of a new pelletizing plant and a plant for the outward freight of pellets. Construction will commence immediately and the pelletizing plant is scheduled to be in operation by March, 2008. On average, 180-200 NCC employees will be engaged in the project. The plant in Kiruna is the largest project to date in the Nordic region to be conducted in a partnering format. This means that the customer, contractor and designer form an integrated project organization with strictly delineated responsibility and with joint incentives for achieving the goals established for the project. The project will be included in orders received during the fourth quarter of 2005.
