NCC to build medical training center in Gothenburg for approximately SEK 130 million NCC has been commissioned to build the first phase of a new medical training center that is currently under development at the site of the former Annedal Clinics in Gothenburg. At the same time, NCC, in its capacity as contractor, is conducting project planning of the remaining phases in cooperation with the customer, HIGAB of Gothenburg. The entire project will comprise eight buildings containing a total of 2 17,000 m of space. Three of these buildings will involve new construction and the other five the rebuilding of existing premises. In total, the project could result in construction work amounting to approximately SEK 130 million for the general contractor, NCC AB. Activities at the new medical training center will include training programs for nurses. The tenant will be the Medical Faculty of the University of Gothenburg. An incentive-based contract structure has been designed, which essentially entails that the customer and the contractor will cooperate under optimal openness in order to arrive at appropriate financial parameters. The construction project, which despite its magnitude is scheduled for completion by December 1, 2001, will impose major demands on the contractor's capacity.
