NCC has been commissioned by Pembroke Real Estate, to build a new office building in the city of Stockholm. The assignment comprises the new build of 35,000 square meters of office space. The office building, with Nordea as the largest tenant, is scheduled to be completed in summer 2015. The order value is SEK 1 billion and the order will be registered in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The property, Kvarteret Hästen 22, is located on Mäster Samuelsgatan 21 in the city of Stockholm.

“We are both adding to the property density of inner-city Stockholm and building a climate-smart modern office for Pembroke Real Estate. The property will be one of the first in Sweden aimed at achieving the highest Platinum certification according to the LEED environmental classification system,” says Lars Westman, Department Manager, NCC Construction Sweden.

LEED is an international classification system for ranking the environmental impact of buildings with the aim of encouraging resource-efficient and environmentally sustainable construction. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

The existing buildings are currently being dismantled and demolished by NCC and the foundation engineering of the new property will commence next spring.

The assignment will be implemented in close partnership with Pembroke Real Estate. The partnership is based on the concept NCC Partnering, which is a structured form of cooperation applied in the construction industry, whereby the property developer, consultants and contractors jointly solve a construction assignment. The method is based on transparent and trusting cooperation in which the professional skills of all parties complement each other throughout the project.

The work is also being planned digitally in 3D/VDC (Virtual Design and Construction), which will increase efficiency during the project.

The project will be registered in the NCC Construction Sweden business area during the fourth quarter of 2012.
