NCC to build rental apartments and tenant-owner apartments at Stockholm Royal Seaport in Norra Djurgården

NCC Construction Sweden has been commissioned to construct rental and tenant/owner apartments in the new area of Stockholm Royal Seaport in Norra Djurgården. The principal for the rental apartments is AB Familjebostäder and the principal for the tenant-owner apartments is Bo Entreprenad AB. The contract will be registered as among orders in the first quarter of 2011 and has a value of approximately SEK 280 million.

The 109 rental apartments and 69 tenant-owner apartments are located in the same neighborhood, Gotska Sandön. A pre-school and meeting hall will also be constructed.

“It is exciting to have rental and tenant-owner apartments in the same project. We have two customers, who in their turn have their own various customer categories. Since we have worked with Familjebostäder and Bo Entreprenad with excellent results in the past, so the prerequisites are favorable,” says Mats Hellberg, Business Manager at NCC Construction, Stockholm/Mälardalen Region.

Stockholm Royal Seaport in Norra Djurgården is one of Europe’s most extensive urban development areas, with 10,000 housing units and 30,000 workplaces planned in total. NCC’s current project breaks ground in May 2011 and is scheduled for completion in June 2013.

“We have positive experience of NCC, so we are pleased to have signed another contract with them,” says Per Eriksson, Project Manager for Familjebostäder.

The Gotska Sandön neighborhood is one of the first projects in the new city district.

“Stockholm Royal Seaport in Norra Djurgården is one of the hottest locations at the moment. Working together with NCC to develop the area feels completely right,” says Michael Thunström, Project Manager for Bo Entreprenad AB.

The project will employ approximately 60 people from NCC.
