Steen & Strøm Danmark A/S has commissioned NCC Construction Danmark A/S to build a modern shopping center in central Vejle on the island of Jutland in Denmark. This is a partnering project and the order value for NCC is approximately SEK 500 million.

NCC will commence work on the 55,000-square-meter shopping complex in mid-May 2006. The Bryggen Center, as it will be known, is scheduled to be in operation in March 2008. The new shopping complex will be constructed in four levels – the two lower levels will house the retail premises and the two uppermost levels will consist of car parking. When the Bryggen center has been completed, it will accommodate about 80 shops, as well as a number of cafes and restaurants. During the next two years, the construction site will employ an average of around 200 employees and subcontractors. Bryggen has been developed by NCC Property Development in cooperation with Steen & Strøm. The contract, which is subject to final approval by the Board of Steen & Strøm, will be booked in the second quarter of 2006. Partnering is a structured form of cooperation in the construction industry, whereby the client, consultants and contractors jointly solve the construction assignment based on a cooperation characterized by openness, trust and respect, and within which the professional skills of all of the partners complement each other in all stages of the project.
