NCC to build warehouse for Biltema for SEK 217 million

NCC has been commissioned to construct an approximately 45,000-square-meter warehouse at Halmstad Harbor. The 15-meter-high, two-story building will contain total storage space of about 50,000 square meters. The client is Buffin Real Estate, a subsidiary of Biltema, and the order is worth SEK 217 million.

The foundation-engineering method selected for the project was of vital importance to the choice of NCC. The foundation will be constructed upon approximately 5,600 combination piles (wood/concrete) that will be covered by a two-meter layer of aggregates. This will constitute the base upon which the slab for the building will be built. Foundation-engineering work will commence in December 2005 and the building is scheduled for completion at the end of 2007.
