The Tvärbanan’s Kista line will run between Ulvsunda and Helenelund and will include ten new stations across three municipalities: Stockholm, Sundbyberg and Sollentuna. Next to the Rissne station, NCC has been commissioned to perform preparatory works featuring technically complex elements.
NCC will carry out extensive relocation of various types of mains/pipelines, conduct railway substructure work and rock blasting/excavation, widen an existing bridge over the subway line and demolish existing bridges and a pedestrian and bike tunnel. The assignment is a complex one, since works will be carried out in a busy urban environment where many people move between work and home.
“This type of project is well suited to NCC. We have long-standing experience of complex civil engineering works and implementing projects in very busy urban environments. We are planning this project to ensure traffic safety for the public and that the work environment is safe for our employees,” says Ingegerd Simonsson, Regional Manager, NCC Infrastructure.
The assignment is a design-build contract in partnering form between SL, the City of Sundbyberg and NCC, and the order value is approximately SEK 265 million. Work is underway and is scheduled for completion in October 2022.
The contract will be registered among orders received in the second quarter of 2020 in the NCC Infrastructure business area.
