NCC has been commissioned by Västfastigheter to construct a large new healthcare facility and to refurbish several existing premises at the Södra Älvsborg hospital in Borås. NCC’s part of the order is worth approximately SEK 240 million.

The assignment includes the construction of a new ten-story healthcare facility with a total of 20,000 square meters of floor space. Västfastigheter is taking this opportunity to also modernize and develop part of the hospital’s existing premises.

“Obviously, we are delighted that Västfastigheter has selected NCC,” says Business Manager Dan Aronsson. “We are naturally gratified that the customer assigned importance to such factors as the organization and process description in its selection procedures, and not just the lowest price.”

When the project has been completed in late autumn 2009, patients within Södra Älvsborg will be received in an even more attractive and patient-friendly hospital.”

The project will be conducted in the form of a coordinated general contract performed on the basis of partnering. This means that the major parties involved will jointly formulate goals and work methods for the project before construction commences in spring 2007. A total of approximately 50 employees will be engaged in the project.
