NCC Construction AS in Norway has concluded an agreement with Leonhard Nilsen & Sønner regarding construction work at LKAB’s new ore harbor in Narvik. The order is worth approximately SEK 290 million.

The project comprises the modernization of LKAB’s ore-unloading facility in Narvik and will generate considerable environmental, production and quality gains for LKAB. The assignment will be conducted on behalf of Leonhard Nilsen & Sønner, which is the general contractor for LKAB. NCC’s contract consists of all construction-related work, such as heavy concrete structures and industrial structures made of steel. Work on the new ore harbor in Narvik has already commenced and the total construction period is three years. NCC’s share of the work will commence during the summer and, at most, 80 company employees and 20-30 subcontractors will be engaged in activities. The project will be registered among orders during the second quarter of 2006.
