NCC to refurbish hospital in Halmstad for SEK 154 million Halland County Council has commissioned NCC Construction to refurbish the hospital in Halmstad. The assignment is worth approximately SEK 154 million. NCC will initiate work on modernizing parts of the hospital in Halmstad on October 4. Several existing buildings will be demolished and replaced by new ones. "The hospital is our largest project to date in Halmstad and we are gratified that Halland County Council has entrusted us with the assignment. Building hospitals adds extra motivation," says Lennart Nilsson, Department Manager for NCC Construction in Halland, Southern Region. The new extension - the hospital's entrance and reception building - will include such facilities as a café, information services and a pharmacy. NCC's assignment includes demolition, landscaping, excavation, molding of basements and construction of the actual concrete building. NCC will also be responsible for interior design. The extension is scheduled for completion in August 2007 and an average of 15 NCC employees will be engaged in it.
