NCC Construction today received an allocation decision from Östergötland County Council regarding the refurbishment of the main building of the university hospital in Linköping. The assignment will be conducted in a partnering format and, in NCC¹s assessment, the order is worth approximately SEK 200 million. The project will commence in October 2006 and is scheduled for completion in 2010.

The assignment is part of larger refurbishment and relocation work at the university hospital in Linköping. Starting in October 2006, NCC will refurbish what is known as the “main block.” The refurbishment is being conducted in order to satisfy more stringent work environment requirements and to modernize aged buildings and system. Among other facilities, the building currently contains the orthopedic, neurological, surgical and ear departments, as well as the children’s hospital. “Together with the county council, we will jointly create functional, safe and attractive premises that contribute to an improved healthcare process,” says Hossein Kabiri, Business Manager at NCC Construction in Linköping. NCC will organize the work in a manner that minimizes disruption to the hospital’s patients and personnel. NCC Partnering is a structured form of cooperation in the construction industry, whereby the client, consultants and contractors jointly solve the construction assignment based on a cooperation characterized by openness, trust and respect, and within which the professional skills of all of the partners complement each other in all stages of the project. The ten-day appeal period starts on August 30, 2006. The assignment will be registered among orders during the fourth quarter of 2006.
