NCC Construction AS in Norway has entered into an agreement with Statkraft Energi AS regarding the rehabilitation of the Aursjø Dam in Møre og Romsdal. The agreement is worth SEK 179 million (NOK 165 million). Work will extend over three seasons and is scheduled for completion in 2007.

Civil engineering work will commence on April 18, 2005 and comprise the replacement of existing plank and felt-paper sealing for a new 35-centimeter reinforced concrete apron facing the water. A new tunnel, spillway and dam top with breakwaters will also be built. Since the dam covers a surface area of 28,000 square meters, the project will be a major challenge, as only short seasons are available in this mountain region for work to remove the old sealing and to form the new concrete slab. The Aursjø Dam is 50 years old, is located in a nature preserve and constitutes part of an extremely popular tourist area on the road between Sunndalsøra and Nesset.
