NCC Property Development has concluded leases with several new tenants for the Nordstaden property in Gothenburg (former Hasselblad Building) comprising a total of 3,860 square meters of floor space. The property has already been sold to Credit Suisse Asset Management and the new tenants mean that approximately 45 percent of Nordstaden has now been leased.

NCC Property Development has signed a contract with Carmenta AB, which will lease 1,400 square meters of office space. Carmenta AB supplies operative geographical information systems to such customers as the defense sector and aircraft industry, as well as within the public safety area. NCC has also signed a lease covering 230 square meters of office space with Projektgaranti, a company that engages in project and construction management in all phases of development, from concept to end product within the construction and real estate sector.

In addition, Sportlife is to open an exclusive training facility in Nordstaden, measuring 2,230 square meters.

All new tenants will move in to the building when it is completed around the end of 2007.

NCC is developing the Hasselblad Building into a state-of-the-art office property with a distinctive design. The property will have one of the best locations in Gothenburg. As a neighbor to the Gothenburg Opera House, the property will become a focal point from the water. The open area in front of the property, St Eriks Torg, is intended to be the starting point for the extended Avenyn, with Götaplatsen as the other end.

“We are noting increased interest in leasing premises in the Nordstaden Building, particularly from various service companies that regard location as important. We intend to create a dynamic work environment, in which tenants can meet other creative companies and also have access to health maintenance and other types of services,” says Manne Aronsson, Acting Regional Manager, NCC Property Development, Western Sweden.

The tenants’ increased requirements in the shape of turnkey solutions that include training opportunities, health maintenance and other types of services matches well with the results of Future Office Study, a trend report commissioned by NCC.

Setterwalls Advokatbyrå and Carnegie had already previously signed leases for Nordstaden.
