Reductions in accidents at NCC’s worksites

NCC’s increased focus on safe behavior, best practice and systematic follow-up is making a difference. The accident rate is dropping again. With fewer serious accidents.

After a steady decline in the number of accidents at NCC since 2011, an increase was noted between 2016 and 2018. But the tide has now turned. The accident rate is declining while activity remains high in the market.

“The positive figures have been helped by an improved systematic way of working, where we are learning from the best units and using targeted efforts to focus on the units that need more support. Today, there is also greater focus on support in production, and that projects are conducted in line with NCC’s systems and processes,” says Lars-Gunnar Larsson, Head of Health and Safety at NCC.

NCC is to hold its Awareness Day for the ninth year and this year’s theme is safe behavior. Tools will be downed at 9:00 a.m. at all worksites in all NCC markets. A joint discussion will be held at the worksite, with everyone given the opportunity to put forward thoughts and ideas on how the worksite can be made even safer and what each individual can do to help foster a safety culture.

“Our work health and safety efforts are based on research indicating that accidents decrease if there is a focus on safe behavior and procedures that incorporate health and safety as a natural part of our culture.”
