HeLi NET and PacketFront combine fibre expertise in strategic partnership

The German carrier HeLi NET Telekommunikation GmbH & Co. KG and the Swedish market leader for broadband networking, PacketFront, have entered into a strategic partnership to market their fibre expertise. With this cooperation, both companies aim to significantly progress the deployment of open access fibre networks in German municipalities.

The focus of the cooperation is the marketing of the open access business model, based upon PacketFront’s solution, via the newly founded HeLi NET consulting company, City2020 Consulting. “Through the City2020 fibre deployments in Hamm, Kamen and Lünen, we have become familiar with PacketFront’s solution and value their products,” says Thomas Wald, HeLi NET’s CEO. “PacketFront is absolutely our first choice for the implementation of future-proof and low investment risk fibre networks.” Specifically the municipalities and local companies in Germany will benefit from the combined expertise, as Wald explains: “As a municipality-owned company and based upon our successful City2020 projects, we understand the organisations and decision-making processes required to implement fibre projects. The operation of open access fibre networks provides the highest profitability and value.
