The Sweden Pavilion, referred to as “The Forest”, is based on the idea of emerging smart cities within the Scandinavian woodlands, presenting a metaphor for the synergy of a bio-circular economy. The structures within the woodland landscape will showcase how technologies are brought together by innovative life sciences and smart cities.

Within the Sweden Pavilion, there will be 500 square meters of solar cells (BIPV) embedded into the roof structure and also  500 square meters of the a façade of solarpanels all showcasing technology available from Soltech Energy AB. Ferroamp’s EnergyHub system will be used to manage and supply the energy from the solar installations to power the Sweden Pavilion. Power consumption will also be reduced with the help of an energy storage installation using advanced Nilar Hydride® batteries. According to Marcus Wigren, Nilar CEO, “The collaboration with Ferroamp and Soltech helps us highlight the cooperative spirit we have embraced within Sweden. We hope to embody the Expo 2020 theme as part of the sustainable display.”
