Nimo gets large order from South Korea, the drying cabinet is now an established concept

Nimo has supplied tens of thousands of drying cabinets to the South Korean market since 2002 and has now received a new order for over 200 Sensor Dryer 1900 F drying cabinets. The order was placed by local retailer Sam Deug Trading Co and comes from one of many ongoing residential projects in which Nimo is involved.

– Thanks to Nimo's high reputation, high quality, good functionality and energy efficiency, our dealer has once again won a major contract. We are also very well placed in future tenders, says Rickard Hallberg, International Key Account Manager at Nimo.

In South Korea homes are usually small and a lot of things must fit into a small apartment, including the family's laundry that needs space to dry. In many apartments laundry is hung from the ceiling to save space. Nimo custom-builds the drying cabinets for each project and adapts them to South Korean ventilation standards.

– South Korean property owners and housing developers have become aware of the moisture problems that are the result when laundry is hung to dry indoors. By installing Nimo drying cabinets as an integral part of the interior, drying becomes more space efficient and the moisture and humidity problems are solved.

Consumers in South Korea generally have high demands for high-tech white goods. Drying cabinets, which for a long time were primarily a well-known product in the Nordic countries, have now definitely entered the South Korean market as a highly topical alternative for drying laundry.

– We are very happy that we have reached out so well with our message, that the drying cabinet is the most gentle and sustainable product for drying laundry. We clearly see that the long-term export effort is paying off.

The retailer Sam Deug Trading Co is investing heavily in Nimo and has employed four people during the year who are actively working with property owners and construction companies to sell the drying cabinets.

– The latest order is a good indication that South Korea has great potential for Nimo. Of course, things have been a little slower during the pandemic years, but tenders are now underway in a dozen different housing projects where we have high hopes of being selected as a supplier.

Nimo's dealer also sees great opportunities for continued positive development in the South Korean market.

– I am convinced that, despite the challenges posed by rising world market prices and other factors, we have a good chance of achieving surprisingly good results, with orders for more than 10,000 drying cabinets in the next few years, provided that market prices stabilise. We look forward to seeing the effects of processing real estate companies and residential builders as early as 2023, says Mr Jang Deug Park, Nimo's dealer in South Korea.
