Nitro Games signs Mobile game production deal with Wargaming
Nitro Games and Wargaming to collaborate on a Free-To-Play Game for Tablets and Smartphones
On this date, Nitro Games has signed a new deal with industry leading free-to-play game company Wargaming. With this agreement Nitro Games and Wargaming are collaborating to co-develop a free-to-play mobile game that will be published by Wargaming. The project starts immediately, is expected to last roughly one year and has an approximate value of 1.1 million euros. Even though Nitro Games is moving towards a self-publishing model, undertaking high status, commercially viable game development projects such as this works as a great tool to mitigate the inherent risk in self-publishing.
“We’re always open to collaborative efforts with other studios as a way of expanding our product line-up quickly and cost-effectively, and Nitro’s track record, mobile expertise and passion make them a great partner,” said Keith Kawahata, Head of Mobile Games at Wargaming. “We look forward to working closely together to make a world-class mobile game with global appeal.”
“We’re excited about this project with Wargaming, one of the pioneers and leaders in free-to-play gaming. This project has strong synergies with our own product strategy. We also feel we’re able to utilize our know-how, processes and technology with this project.”, states Jussi Tähtinen, CEO & Co-Founder at Nitro Games.
As disclosed on 10 April, Nitro Games is currently investigating the possibility of listing on Nasdaq First North Stockholm. The Company is moving towards a self-publishing model, and believes that listing in Stockholm would provide increased attention and brand awareness among customers, the games industry as well as other stakeholders.
