Selection process for the Nobel Prize 2014 has begun

263 scientists have been nominated for the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Among them, 46 individuals were nominated for the first time. The deadline for nominations for the 2014 Nobel Prize was January 31. The Nobel Committee will evaluate the nominations during spring and summer. The final decision will be made by the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet on October 6, 2014.

“We have received a large number of nominations, similar to last year, and are now starting to evaluate them,” says Professor Göran K Hansson, Secretary-General of the Nobel Assembly.
