Urban Lendahl new Secretary for the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine

At the Nobel Assembly meeting held on November 27, 2014, Professor Urban Lendahl was elected as the new Secretary for the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet and Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine from January 1, 2015.

Professor Lendahl is Professor of Genetics at the Department of Cell- and Molecular Biology, Karolinska Institutet. He was a member of the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine 2007-2013 and Chairman of the Nobel Committee 2012. He has been a member of the Nobel Assembly since July 1, 2000.

The present Secretary, Professor Göran Hansson, has been elected Permanent Secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and will take up this position on July 1, 2015. Professor Hansson remains a member of the Nobel Assembly.
